6th July 2007 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 25-35 knots Surf / Sea State: 3 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 16ºC Sea Temperature: 16ºC Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Another excellent session here at Ynyslas. The weather station was reading around 30 knots when Impi arrived and we headed off to the beach. Impi went out with his 4.2m sail but I didn't think it felt that windy (and my 4.5m has seen better days) so I rigged my5m with plenty of outhaul and got out there on my little wave board. It was perfect. Well powered but with plenty of control so I had a great time blasting around in the waves. We sailed across to Graveyards a few times and generally had fun playing in the whitewater. The 5m felt fine and I thought the wind must have been around 25 knots, but when I got home it was still reading around 30 knots with gusts over 35. Its surprising how much wind that 5m can handle. A great day, but no forward loop attempts I'm afraid! |
